Stay Tuned: SMARTLash Eyelash Enhancer

So I am trying SMARTLASH, an eyelash (and eyebrow) enhancer by iQ Derma. I am sure you've seen products like Latisse, that promise thicker, fuller lashes...but I'm sure you've also heard about the side fx (like color change in retinas, or unwanted hair growth). It was those effects that made me stop and be grateful for the lashes I have. But I was introduced to SMARTLASH and was intrigued to try it. Why? Well for one, it has replaced all the harmful ingredients with gentle peptides (unlike its competition, there are no hormones such as Prostaglandin, and its Paraben-free as well). It features Visilash Technology, which I won't lie to you, I have no idea what that means, but it's clinically tested to help achieve longer, thicker lashes and eyebrows in as little as 7 days.

How do you use it? You're supposed to use it twice a day, once in the morning, and once in the evening. Only apply enough to moisten your eyelids and brows to avoid the product running into your eyes. And, shake before using.

It has only been Day 2 for me, and NO side fx. Unfortunately, I have only been using it at night, but starting today I will be applying it twice. I have taken my before picture, and by next Friday, I will take my after shot and post. I am hopeful there will be a difference. How exciting right? (Well, maybe not for you yet.) But stay tuned...if all goes well, Brooke Shields better move over, because I will be the spokesperson for SMARTLASH and give her lashes and brows a run for their money.

If you want to try it along with me, you can purchase SMARTLASH at Glow.com. $125. (But it's on sale for $75)

If you have tried it, want to try it, or going to give it a try, I want to hear from you! So leave me a comment so we can document together.

  1. Hey, I came upon your article today and was wondering what's your results? Did this product live up to its promise? I am seriously considering buying this form glow.com but I like to make an informed decision before I can splurge (yes it is expensive for me) on this item. Thanks!

  4. Right now, Smartlash is on sale on their website for 29 dollars plus with a coupon code ot2wk you can save another 15%. Myself I have been using LiLash for about 6 weeks and have had amazing results. I did order Smartlash though because the price is right and my Lilash won't last forever.

How did your experience turn out?

  5. Don't waste your money. I have been using Smartlash for 3 months now and it DOESN'T work. Also becareful when you apply the solution on your eyelids. It will burn your eyes.

  6. I have been using Smartlash for about a month and I love it. I don't even use it every day and most of the time I only use it once when I remember. I have seen a big difference. I love not having to wear a lot of mascara.

  7. I saw the reviews on the derm store site. They have a review dated 6/11/2011 by Dr.Magover, followed by a review dated 11/10/2011 by KW. I wonder how you can get a review that far in advance. Also if you look at the before and after pics, they are not the same, since one lid has a mole and the other does not. I guess this would fall under false advertising. I was hoping to be able to order this product, but doesn't seem likely.

  8. Interesting...The dermstore website now has a review by Dr. Magover dated 6-23-11, and the review by KW is now dated 11-1-2010. Wonder if they are changing the date on purpose...sortof makes me regret having already bought it--thanks for the heads up though!!

  11. Hi Fashionisette - But you never said whether it worked for you or not?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Thanks for posting the information about their fake reviews, changing the dates, etc. Anyone can make up a review and then add "Dr." and put in a stock photo.

Once trust is violated, do not buy.

  13. What I find amazing is that fashionisette (if there really is such a person)never told us her results as of last year and this site is still here! Read her reply .... doesn't that tell you all you need to know about the product? Why are you now so quiet about this product fashionisette?
I don't expect an answer, but simply wonder why anyone would even look any further at this website. Not a credible website to me!

  14. Thanks for your recent comment. I did follow up with a review, and you can read it here: http://thefashionisette.blogspot.com/2011/03/update-smartlash-review.html. Sorry if you feel my website is not credible. Thanks for reading.

  15. Well, I just have to share my experience. I have been looking for a safe product to try to get thicker lashes. And based on a recommendation on The Doctors TV program that I read about online, I ordered SmartLash. I received it quickly, but after 2-3 days use I noticed that I was developing a bit of a rash above my eyes. I only used it along my lash line. No need for it on my big eyebrows! But the rash started above my lids. So I stopped using. I was going to wait a few days, and now I have really dry skin under my eyes as well. Not sure if I will wait and give it another try. Could it be a fluke? Unfortunately, I will probably need to call and get refunded. Hope you have better luck than I(eye?) did!!

  17. Sorry to hear about your experience doll. I'm glad you stopped using it if you were getting those results. Since my last review, I have not used the product. While I did notice some small change, once I stopped using it seemed like I lost the results I had. I apologize for not having any photos. As with all products, results will vary. So I do not speak bad of the product, nor do I endorse it. I just hope whoever tries it gets the results desired.

Thanks so much for all of your feedback!

    1. I'm a skeptic but it really works. Unfortunately it works too well. I stopped using it because I now have hair on my eyelids and I don't know how to get rid of it. I apply it as directed. Has anyone else had the same experience?

  18. to all you smart lash users....buyer beware that is all I say....I had tried latisse and yes, results are quite good at first but then after a while of use (a few months later) my eyelashes became sparse and worse than when I first started!!! I had the company refund my $ but I'm still struggling with getting my original lashes back....now I'd be happy just for that!Maybe we should all not be so caught up in our outter looks so much but rather concentrate on our inner beauty more!

  19. I am a faithful Latisse user, I have been using it for more than 18 months. As with anything, individual results will vary, but personal experience is pretty wonderful. Lashes grew within a couple of months to really great lengths, eyebrows got darker and more accentuated. My lids did get darker, so that added more drama to the eyes. And an added benefit happened: my always tired and watery eyes (they would cry rivers while I was sleeping, I would wake up with my face soaked in tears) stopped being tired and watery. No more oceans of tears. I don't know if Latisse and eye condition improvement are at all connected, but I found that timing is curious.

As for SmartLash... If anything intended for cosmetic use is said to sting, I would stay away from that product. Just my humble opinion.

  20. well after reading all these comments, just receiving it just today, I think I'm going to send it back!! my lashes are fine, just got a bit greedy and wanted more, lol..I have beautiful blue-green eyes that change color, and definnately don't want to change my eyes to brown!!! thanks for all the comments..they are legally able to put all these fake things up, within the law!!!!! <3

  21. I have seen people that use Latisse and, yes they are really long, but now I hear that after a while they fall out, women, we must be happy with what we do have!!! better than BALD EYES!!! LOL

  22. Have been using SmartLash for 3 and a half months now... Lashes are extremely thick, and long. Think everybody reacts different.. Love the product.. and have never had an issue with it.. annd have blues eyes. :)

  23. Have been using SmartLash for a couple of months and have seen a difference...almost ready to go without wearing any mascara at all! Yeh!

  24. “Women just bat their eyelashes to get what they want.” This saying only shows that having long and thick eyelashes is a woman’s symbol of beauty.

  25. In this beauty conscious world and time, fabulous lashes are “in” and the proof of this is the introduction and birth of various novel ways promising to give consumers thicker, darker, and longer eyelashes. From the prescription and over the counter products to semi-permanent mascara and extensions, more and more ways have been discovered to help you get long eyelashes.

  26. I have used both LiLash and Smartlash. I began with the LiLash and had incredible results (I used it as directed) then I ran out and decided not to spend another $125. My eyelashes remained longer than they were to begin with and did thin back down a bit after not using the product for 4 or 5 months. I then found the SmartLash on sale so I bought it to try. I haven't had the same results as the LiLash but I also haven't been as diligent in using it twice per day nor have I used it daily -- even with that I have seen lash growth and thickening. Just based on the results thus far, I have a feeling if I were to remember to use it faithfully as recommended that I would see much better results. I like the sale price I purchase it for from Dermastore which is much, much better than the price of the LiLash.

  27. Why run the risk of harming your precious eyes....

  28. I used Latisse 2 years ago, I saw a quick result in length...even friend asked what have i done to my face..
on my second (little) bottle i started noticing the brown marks on my upper lids, but i also felt like crack or wrinkle on my eye lid which to this date I still feel that crack/wrinkle, it used to really hurt when i would put eye cream on but after a year it does not hurt anymore, but i still feel that crack. DOES SMARTLASH ALSO LEAVE THE BROWN PATCH ON LIDS?

  29. I bought Smart Lash and have seen zero results. I will be returning it for a refund.

  30. I just ordered the SmartLash bc I decided not to spend the 115 for latrisse esp bc of the side effects, not only the browning of the eye or skin around the eye, but also it causes blurred vision in some -- so I hope to get amazing results fr the SmartLash, I was wearing extensions and they made my lashes grown back thin and sparse, AVOID EYE LASH EXTENSIONS!

also, for great looking lashes the cheap easy way, you can try Mary Kay Ultimate Mascara - www.MaryKay.com/MichelleBowman

  31. I've used Latisse for over 2 years now and EVERYONE comments on my lashes. I had tiny short lashes before, now they are long thick and dark. It is rare, but when I do put masscara on they look like spider legs they are so long and thick! It did cause my skin on my lids to darken to a redish color which is ok, and my eye color did change... I have... had ... brown eyes... like red brown, not dark brown.... it changed them to hazel... I have green, yellow and a bit of blue now.... werid! I LOVE Latisse... OH... and if you put a drop in the lid of the container one drop I do both lids so I can make one bottle last over 3 months (3ml bottle)!! So per month it is around 33 bucks... not bad! I did order the Smartlash today... but I'm not hopeful and for the same price I KNOW Latisse works for me! We'll see :)

  32. Latisse Generic consists of a major ingredient bimatoprost ophthalmic solution and it's recommended to treat hypotrichosis.A condition wherein a person has inadequate or scanty growth of eyelashes is known as hypotrichosis.Latisse Generic helps in their growth thereby making them darker, longer and thicker.

  33. I will give you the xlash eyelash serum! It works! I've been using it for a week now i have purchased it from http://www.xlash.net/, twice a day like instructed, and it has helped my eyelashes grow so much! I was a little worried about using a product that was so cheap, but I'm really happy with the results thus far. I have sensitive eyes, like overly sensitive eyes, and it doesn't bother me. I also wear contacts and I put this on in the morning after I put my contacts in and it doesn't bother me at all. So great product and would recommend to all.
