Celebs "Digital Death" Took too Long

If you're on Twitter, which by now you should be, I am sure you saw your fave celebs tweeting that they would be digitally dead in an effort to raise $1 million for Keep a Child Alive (an organization that helps fund HIV/AIDS relief efforts in places like Africa). Well, I guess the celebs overestimated how long it would take and started to get a little impatient. The deal was that they could not tweet until the $1 million mark was reached. I guess Usher couldn't wait because he started back Sunday. In any case, it seems the celebs reached out to a Brooklyn bred billionaire, Stewart Rahr. He sold his pharmaceutical company for a little over a billion dollars recently and was more than happy to donate $500,000 to bring the celebs back to social media life. It's reported that Kim Kardashian can earn about $10,000 a tweet, so I guess I can see why the celebs were ready to tweet again. I wish I could earn even $10 for my tweets.

  1. I still don't understand the point of this. If each of the celebs cared so much about that project why didn't they give at least $10,000 each or even a million each. It's not like they can't afford it. That would have done more for the organization.

  2. Yeah, that whole little fundraiser was illogical. Your pretend 'death' kind of makes light of something very serious and they could of all just donated money themselves. I hadn't heard about Usher tweeting early though, that's just pathetic.
