New Year 2011!!!

My version of the ball dropping in true Fashionisette style.

I can't believe that we are just hours away from a new year. I can remember when we were saying hello to 2010. I really want to thank all of you for making me feel loved (and read) this year! Your readership (and subscriptions) have really meant a lot to me. For me, The Fashionisette, this is only just the beginning. I can't wait to unveil the new things I have in store for 2011, and I can't wait to bring them to you. On January 1st, we all have a chance to hit the reset button and do things differently. Instead of making resolutions and talking about change, let's actually change. This is the generation and era of inspiration, motivation, and change of situation. Technology is influencing the world around us, and let's use it for the good.

Teena Marie: March 5, 1956 - December 26, 2010 (UPDATE)

Sadly, it has been confirmed that Teena Marie did pass away in her sleep. The news finally broke on CNN, Huffington Post, and TMZ. It is still unclear as to the cause of the death, but the story is still developing. Her daughter, Alia Rose, reportedly is the one that discovered the body. It is also reported that Teena Marie was suffering from grand mal seizures. She was a music icon and won't be forgotten.

Teena Marie: March 5, 1956 - December 26, 2010

It has been reported on Twitter tonight that singer, Teena Marie, has died. While there hasn't been any confirmation through news sources, there have been some celebrity confirmations and a few radio DJ's have reported her death. I cannot find any actual confirmation, but if this is true, I am saddened by the news. She was only 54. I loved her signature voice and that she was, to me, the best white R&B singer ever. My favorite songs were "Square Biz" (if you remember it was also remixed by Foxy Brown and called "Firm Biz".), "Ooh La la la", and my all-time fave "Fire & Desire".
