NYFW: Monique Lhuillier A/W 11

It was a dream to be at the Monique Lhuillier show. What girl doesn't want Monique to design for her? I think I died and gasped more at her show than any other. I am a sucker for anything ruffles and Ms. Lhuillier did not disappoint with tastefully done dramatic flair. Even though there was a lot of black and neutral colors, the runway was anything but bland. There were tailored suits cinched with a bow detail, sweater knits, chic separates, ruffles, feathers, and fur, evening gowns, cocktail dresses, tea-length dresses, and dashes of bold red and leopard prints walking down the runway. I loved the ruffle shirts paired with tailored black pants, and of course her evening gowns (which can easily translate into wedding gowns) that had a fitted bodice and dramatic ruffled bottoms. My closet definitely needs to speak Lhuillier.
