Au Revoir Fashion Week!

It's hard to believe that Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week has come to an end (well, it ended last week Thursday). The planning for it seems to last longer than the actual week. This season, while the tents seemed bare on the inside (I was seriously missing Starbucks and Kim Crawford Wine), it was definitely buzzing with style. I always love the ones that really get dressed up for fashion week. Every season I make a vow to wear something photog worthy, and every season I take the lazy way out. But I promise, next season I will wow them away and get snapped for my street style. This season, not only did we see new Spring '12 looks, but the tents got a face-lift with a new look on the outside. It grew on me as the days went.

We got to attend a total of 11 shows this season [including Nolcha Fashion Week], and definitely plan on attending more next season. We only started a year ago, so I am proud of how far we have come. We loved being in the rows and at the following shows: Carlos Miele, Rebecca Minkoff, Pamella Roland, Jason Troisi, L'UVE, Rolando Santana, Stevie Boi, Edwing D'Angelo, ARISE Magazine "Made in Africa" Designer Collective, Naeem Khan, and Nolcha Fashion Week.

I got to meet Nigel Barker and his wife at the Pamella Roland presentation under the tents. Met and took a pic with Mikki Taylor (of Essence magazine). I don't have that photo, one of her assistants snapped it via iPad, and I haven't seen it. Hope it looked ok. I spotted June Ambrose front row at Rebecca Minkoff. I still haven't officially met her, but my fashion week resolution is to. At the Rolando Santana show, my mom and I got to meet Stephen Baldwin. Totally random right? Well, his pose is classic! I still look at it for a laugh. Gotta love those Baldwin brothers.

Thanks to Glambergirl and Kitoko St. Furcy for covering Nolcha Fashion Week and Stevie Boi for us! Your reports were fabulous. Thank you L'elite Magazine for the media retreat at Empire Hotel. And, Maybelline, thanks for the complimentary mascara. Lots of Lashes is my new mascara love!

I can't wait for next season!
