The Glambergirl Alert: Nolcha Fashion Week

All true fashion lovers every where flock to New York City for the infamous Mercedes Benz Fashion Week. Many come for the well known designers and brands in the industry but Fashion's Week best kept secret, and it may not be that much of a secret, is Nolcha Fashion Week. On Monday, September 12 from 12pm - 8pm at the Metropolitan Pavilion the Nolcha Fashion Week Fashion Lounge: Apparel and Accessory Exhibition took place along with various fashion shows throughout the day at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm.

I had the honor to attend the 7pm show that showcased three emerging designers. The featured designers for the show I attended were: Danilo Gabrielli, Guljan Yrys, and Kabukiu. Each designer had a very distinct style with a few similarities. Danilo Gabrielli started the show off with a lot of white and lace garments. I see wearing white after labor day is not an issue with this designer. Later on in his show more metallic and brown garments hit the runway along with lots of shimmer. Guljan Yrys was up next! This designer also used lots of shimmer but combined with ruffles. The ruffles draped the models beautifully. There was a plethora of black and sheer in the pieces in this collection. The pieces were very sexy and a few of the tops were corseted. There was lace, feathers and sequin, OH MY! There was definitely a few pieces I could see myself wearing.

Lastly, Kabukiu hit the runway. From the first piece in this collection that hit the runway I could tell it drew from Oriental design. Many of the garments were reminiscent of kimonos embroidered with golden and white designs. There was much gold in this collection like just like the others. All in all the designers were amazing and the show was a success! Do you have any Fashion Week experiences to share?
