NFW: Nolcha Fashion Week recap

Nolcha Fashion Week is THE fashion week for emerging designers and brands. I love to attend because it's a breath of fresh designs and names breaking into the industry. On Monday, NFW held its 10th season at the Metropolitan Pavilion in NYC.

The event featured the Nolcha Fashion Lounge, an Apparel & Accessory Exhibition, as well as three runway shows throughout the day at 1pm, 4pm and 7pm.

The Nolcha Fashion Lounge included a Beauty Bar with pampering treatments and goodies from the official Nolcha Fashion Week sponsors including: nails and lashes by Kiss, makeup by Kroma, fragrances and skincare by Vitabath, lip balm from LypSyl, and refreshments courtesy of Vitamin Water and Don Q Rum.

Attendees could peruse the exhibition throughout the day, which featured 14 independent designers, including: Afia, Bennetts Boots, Carrie Parry, Devon Thomas, Eggcream, Fung Wear, Maleku Jewelry, Rainbow People, Reflections African Jewelry, Soham Dave, Sonja Lang, Stay by Mar (for Care for Kenya), Street Star, and William Watson.

The 1pm Runway Show featured: Carlos Luna, Sarahi House of Fashion, Eredappa, and K. Borgella.

The 4pm Runway Show featured: Elizabeth Kosich New York (swimwear), Amber Patton, Zula Studio sponsored by Maleku Jewelry, Amelia Boland, and Daisy & Elizabeth (lingerie).

The 7pm Runway Show featured: Danilo Gabrielli (accessories by Maleku Jewelry), Guljan Yrys, and Kabukiu.

Nails and lashes for the runway shows were provided by Kiss, and hair was by Paul Mitchell. Other sponsors of the event included American Airlines, and Bandai Namco Games. In case you missed the shows, they were live streamed on SpunLive.com, a new platform that integrates branding and social media, making this season's shows accessible to fashion lovers worldwide.
