NYFW: Edwing D'Angelo S/S 12

I knew I was in for quite a show when I arrived at the Red Bull Loft in Soho, NYC for the Edwing D'Angelo "A New Beginning" S/S 12 runway show. The line outside the venue was nothing less than bananas! Thank goodness I was press otherwise I wouldn't have gotten in. One of my media friends had arrived but wasn't allowed in because they had closed the doors. Guests enjoyed passed hors d'oeuvres provided by Cucuta's Catering (the shrimp was sinful), huge cupcakes a la Ms. Tonya's Sinful Delights, and cocktails courtesy of Meoko Vodka. You know me and shoes, and for his show, footwear was courtesy of Pour La Victoire (a personal fave) and for the gents, Rockport. Love co-ed runways. The collection was very Americana with a modern twist. The women's collection gave a nod to the 40's and 50's, yet still keeping current. While the men's collection was all Clark Kent, no changing necessary. I loved the mens shirt designs. And the long tuxedo shirt dress that was on a male model, I could so use that in my addition to the gown featured to the left. Edwing's collection offered day-night looks, and in fashion we all need quick time change solutions since we sometimes lack time to change. His use of color, prints, details, fit and tailoring were exquisite. [By the way, pre-show, we were treated to a performance by Sony Japan recording artist Erica. Loved her dancers blonde afro wigs. Very retro.]

Celeb Spottings: Patra (remember her?? I couldn't believe it myself), Carla Facciolo (Mob Wives), Jorge Ramon (stylist), Aminat Ayinde (ANTM Season 12 walked the runway)
