Trendspotting: Wedge-heeled Sneakers

I didn't give these wedge heeled sneakers much thought when I saw them on Beyonce in her Love on Top video. Actually, I never noticed them on her feet in the video, to be honest. Celebs like Alicia Keys and Tracee Ellis Ross have been seen sporting the uber popular Isabel Marant high-tops. But recently, the styles have evolved and it wasn't until I saw Ciara (who I am a big fan of entertainment-wise and occasionally style-wise) a couple of weeks ago at a basketball game, that I took notice of sneaker wedges. I remember when I was going to school platform sneakers made a mark on the trend radar, but it didn't seem to last long. Then sneakers were just sneakers. Now, they are trending as sneaker wedges and I have to say, I am liking. I probably won't get a pair until the trend is done, as sometimes I am a trend behind, but as long as jeggings and skinny jeans are around, then there will always be an occasion for me to rock the newly defined high tops.
