Getting Nailed: The Border Mani

Madeline Poole Nails
The border mani on me.
I don't know if you have also been seeing this nail art photo around. But a few weeks ago I spotted it and saved it because oddly I loved it. Then I started seeing other variations of this "border" style manicure and I wanted to try it (you can see other styles on Necole Bitchie and You Nailed it!). So earlier today, thankfully when the rain stopped, I went to get a pedi originally, but my manicurist was able to give me a mani too. I brought in the picture (shown above) and told her we were going to try something different. I chose a pale pink color (because I saw that look too) with a black outline. This was the first time she's ever done this style, and I think she did a good job for her first. She claimed it was hard, which I guess it is to keep a stable hand and outline your nail shape. Something I could never do on my own.

But here is the result. I love it. It's different, and I always like being different. At first, it takes a little getting used to, and I am sure it's one of those designs where you either love it or hate it. I do like the pale pink I am not sure how white with black would look with my complexion. I am also thinking of some other color combos that could work.

So what do you think? Would you wear this border nail trend?
