The Glambergirl Alert: Kids Choice Awards 2012

Hello Glamberous ones. The most slimiest, wackiest, and funnest, if any of those are even words, award shows around hit the television waves on Saturday night, March 31. If you haven't guessed by now, it's the Kids Choice Awards, aka the  KCAs. The only award show I fear! I would hate to get slimed. It just looks like so much to deal with getting off; it always amazes me how the celebs that get slimed during the show make such a quick fashion.

But back to the show, Will Smith hosted the 25th annual KCAs and kept the show hyped up all night. Winners of the night included Kristen Stewart for 'Favorite Movie Actress', Taylor Lautner for 'Favorite Buttkicker', Selena Gomez for 'Favorite TV Actress and Singer', Big Time Rush for 'Favorite Group' and Taylor Swift won "The Big Help' award presented by first lady Michelle Obama. Performers for the night included Katy Perry and One Direction.

Be sure to check out all the winners, photos and exclusive content at www.nick.com/kids-choice-awards.

Model Walk: Maalan Ajang

Food Diary: Time to Count Phone Numbers and Not Calories!

Ok dolls. Living single in NYC and eating well can be a challenge. Who has time anymore to really be in the kitchen? And if you do have time to be in the kitchen, do you really want to spend that time in the kitchen? Between work, networking events, social media, retail therapy, family, and friends, I'm all booked up. Thank goodness for The Fresh Diet. They take care of our culinary needs so we can spend more time on tweeting, pinning, facebooking, and being more social and less time in the kitchen trying to be Rachel Ray. And don't let the word diet make you think you're going to be hungry all day. With The Fresh Diet you get 3 (already calorie controlled, so you don't have to worry) meals and 2 indulgent snacks, which I always seem to skip because I'm too busy to prepare anything these days (sad right?). And with Summer coming, it's time to shed some of that winter weight. You can lose up to 10 lbs in a month with TFD. Imagine no cooking, no clean up, and no calorie counting. You get fresh cooked, nutritionally balanced meals delivered free right to your door daily. Sounds like a foodie win-win. Now, all we have to worry about is what NOT to wear, instead of what we're going to eat.

Think The Fresh Diet will get your sexy back? Well, I have a special discount for my readers: Receive 3 days free with the purchase of a 31 day plan at $29.99 per day. Discount code: singlmar29.

Now living la vida single doesn't mean you can't eat luxuriously. Get a fab meal for one in the convenience of your own home. Bon Appetit!

Fashion TV: The Carrie Diaries

Here's your first look at AnnaSophia Robb as the young "Carrie Bradshaw" in the upcoming prequel The Carrie Diaries. I'm still not sure how I even feel about this pre-SATC show. However, I do know how I feel that Gossip Girl stylist, Eric Daman is the main stylist for the show...and it feels so right! The show might not be a winner (or they could surprise me), but I know the fashion, without a doubt, will be.

Thursday Love: Say I Love You To Those Who Matter Most

With all the turmoil that's happening in Sanford Florida which is about 15 minutes from my home, I didn't feel that it would be right to try to talk about a relationship issue this week. 17 year old Trayvon Martin was shot and killed just about a month ago and the man who openly admits that he DID shoot him is still walking free.

I'm at a loss for words regarding the travesty of justice that's going on in the city of Sanford right now. My previous statement may sound like I'm already saying that George Zimmerman is guilty and should be thrown in prison for the rest of his life. That's not what I'm saying because I'm not the kind of person to automatically say that a situation is racially motivated, and I'm not the kind of person to play the race card....because I think it's become less of an actual reason for the difficulties we face as black people, and more so an excuse because nothing has been handed to us. I prefer to reserve my judgement until all facts have come out in a matter before condemning anyone.

However, at this time with all the different stories being posted online, the 911 recordings, the girlfriend's statement, Zimmerman himself on a 911 recording disobeying what the dispatcher tells him...it's kind of hard not to reserve some kind of judgement. One can only hope that justice is done in this tragic case.

Being a black man and new father, the thing that scares me the most is that the possibility exists that this kind of tragedy can happen to anyone. My son, me...my brother...my friend. ANYONE.

There's a saying in the black community called D.W.B. Driving While Black. We laugh about it because it's happened to many of us where we've been pulled over for doing nothing....or what seemed like just a way for a white officer to exert his authority. I've experienced it multiple times in my life...even so far as being pulled from my vehicle on the New Jersey Turnpike, thrown on the hood of my car, cuffed, and had all my belongings tossed from my vehicle. Only to have the officers tell me that I was free to go and to "be on my best behavior".

What is this world coming to where a kid can't walk to HIS OWN HOME (gated community or not), wearing whatever he pleases, and not be harassed by some "Top Flight Security" rent-a-cop? Let alone be pursued by him and eventually shot dead by him.

I fear for the upcoming generation of young black men, because it seems that no matter how far we've come as a people...we still have so very far to go! I fear for the upcoming generation because you have no clue what others deem to be suspicious activity, or what paranoia's or fears of other races they may have. Or even what ingrained hatred they may have for people of other races.

So to all the black mothers and fathers out there....kiss your children...hug them tight...tell them YOU LOVE THEM...because tomorrow is not promised for any of us! Just ask Trayvon Martin's parents.

Style Snaps: Beyonce has "Sprung"

[Yes, I am back from vacay dolls and kens!! Did you miss me?]

Earlier today, while I was flying back to NY I'm sure, Beyonce was snapped entering a NYC building dressed for Spring. I don't have the scoop on the designers she is wearing, but I am loving this simple floral arrangement she is sporting. Definitely a style we can copy easily and put our own little spin on it. Gotta love NYC in the springtime!

Thursday Love: Does Body Count Really Matter?

Jewel of wisdom du jour: "Everybody has a past, some more intense than others. But it's in the past. You're not what you've done."

So what exactly is a "body count"? The "body count" is the number of people you've slept with. Along with the "body count" comes the "rule of 3". The "rule of 3" states that when a woman tells a man her "body count" then you have to multiply the number they give you by 3 in order to get their real number...and that for men...you have to divide their number by 3. Why is that? Because generally speaking women lie downward on the number they've been with and men lie upward on their number; because society has put such a big stigma on the number of sexual partners someone has had. I don't really believe in the rule of 3...but it is kind of funny when you think about it the generalization that women lie about how few men they've slept with while men lie about sleeping with many women.

Thursday Love Disclaimer: "Here at The Fashionisette...we're not encouraging promiscuity at all....and if you're planning on having sex...make sure you're of legal consenting age and do so in a safe manner."

So should the number of people someones slept with have that large of an impact on how you view that person? I personally don't like to judge someone based on something like that alone. Think about it....perhaps you meet someone who's had 12 different partners but they're in their 40's...that doesn't exactly tell you as much about that person as if say they were 18 with 12 different partners!

The only time I feel that this number truly matters is when someone is getting into a committed relationship, they and their partner should be able to have that conversation openly and honestly. Keep in mind though that some people take this very seriously and if the "body count" is too high...they'll wipe their hands of the situation and walk away...while others don't care what the number is. I don't advocate lying about this number either....if the person you're with isn't mature enough to know that you had a past before them...then they're probably not the right person to be with anyway.

But a word to the wise...knowing the stigma that having many sexual partners can bring and that there are many people who seriously care how many people you've slept with in the past, make smart decisions because you don't want to develop a negative reputation and you don't want your past decisions to possibly have a negative impact on what could be a good relationship.

Here is a video by LifeMinute.tv breaking the trends down for us from catwalk to sidewalk:

Celebritazzi: Lindsay's Seeing Red

*sigh of relief* It's about time. Lindsay Lohan is back to red. She was snapped Thursday leaving her L.A. salon as a redhead. I, for one, am glad she is back to her natural state. Maybe she can finally get her acting career on board.

How do you feel now that Lindsay is back to her roots?

[Sidenote: loving her ensemble too!]

PFW: Kanye West RTW Fall 2012

On March 7th, Kanye West returned to the fashion week scene with his second pret-a-porter collection. He took to the runways of Paris with 20 looks and a star-studded front row which included Kim Kardashian, Diddy, Alicia Keys, Swizz Beatz, Cassie, Anna Wintour, Andre Leon Talley, and more. [P.S. I heard ALT was donning velour sweatpants and Uggs.] The show, which had top models Jourdan Dunn, Joan Smalls, Karlie Kloss, and Abbey Lee Kershaw working it in leather and fur, raised mixed reviews. Personally, I don't think his collection is all that bad. He has a lot of pieces that one can mix-n-match with their own wardrobe and style to make it their own. While his footwear might be a little uncomfortable, I have to say I would rock those bandage boots in heartbeat. His collection shows promise and for Spring 2013, he will be ready!! [By the way, everyone was talking about the fur backpack shown left. I say it is a Kanye signature. But, c'est la vie. You can't win them all.]

What do you think of his collection? Are the critics too hard on him?

Kind of loving these mesh booties.

I do love these boots!
