Red Carpet YAYs: 85th Academy Awards

Last night was the 85th Academy Awards at the Dolby Theatre in California. Surprisingly, I watched the whole thing! It was a little touch and go...but it wasn't too bad at all. Seth McFarlane hosted and he kept me pretty entertained...although I was waiting for the Stewie voice to come out at some point...but I am kind of glad it didn't. There were a couple of surprise cameos such as William Shatner and Barbra Streisand (of which I got goosebumps when she performed and kept thinking The Nanny would come out at any minute), but the biggest one came at the end with FLOTUS Michelle Obama (wearing Naeem Khan) presenting the Oscar to Argo for Best Picture. From the musical performances, to songs like "We saw your boobs" and the "Here's to the Losers" (performed by Kristin Chenowith and Seth McFarlane), it was one interesting and pretty funny night. But now for what you really want to red carpet "yays" picks. I must say, not to many people disappointed me on the red carpet last night....which is why you will see I have so many. However, I definitely have my top 3 faves which you will see in another post. Check out my thoughts below...

Red Carpet YAYs

Amy Adams in Oscar de la Renta
Helen Hunt in H&M

Jane Fonda in Versace

Jennifer Garner in Gucci

Jennifer Lawrence in Dior Haute Couture

Jennifer Hudson in Roberto Cavalli

Jessica Chastain in custom Giorgio Armani

Kerry Washington in Miu Miu

Naomi Watts in Armani Privé

First Lady Michelle O. in Naeem Khan

Nicole Kidman in L'Wren Scott

Salma Hayek in Alexander McQueen

Stacy Keibler in Naeem Khan

Sandra Bullock in Elie Saab Haute Couture

Zoe Saldana in Alexis Mabille Couture

Reese Witherspoon in Louis Vuitton
Mary Kitchen in THEIA

In no particular order, I loved the color that Reese picked. Zoe looked like a fierce ice princess. Salma was giving me a latina Holly Golightly which I loved. Jessica Chastain gave me old Hollywood glamour. Jane Fonda breathed life into me with that yellow stunner. Amy and J.Law gave me drama with the bottoms of their gowns...and I am a sucker for a dramatic gown ending. Brava to Helen Hunt for coming in H&M (despite the wrinkling) and adorning it with $700k of that's how you do a high and low. Media correspondent Mary Kitchen looked classic in her THEIA Fall 2012 sunset gown. I just really enjoyed the precise tailoring, perfected silhouettes, and poured into gown picks that the celebs opted for. They brought the glam back this year.

What did you think of the red carpet at the Oscars this year? Who were your faves?
