NYFW: Demoo Parkchoonmoo SS17

I know it has been a while since I attended a fashion show...so this past season I wanted to make my way back to the "tents". Even though fashion week, to me, is not the same anymore, I will always still love it. I was pleasantly surprised to see some invites roll in this season (I am always grateful when I get invites for The Fashionisette) and while I couldn't attend everything as I would have liked, the shows I did make didn't disappoint. On Friday, Sept. 9th, I attended the Demoo Parkchoonmoo show at The Gallery on 550 Washington Street. I have always been a fan and this SS17 season did not let me down. The theme of the collection was Airiness...and very appropriate as each item that walked down the runway caught wind and brought a lightness to the collection. She was inspired by her own artwork and a Korean seonbi (scholar) coat. The collection was effortless and the color palette simple as it was a lot of white and black, mixed with patchwork denim blues and grays. I really enjoyed this show. I appreciated her aesthetic with this collection because it had a fluid, yet tailored, silhouette. The models looked like the "cool girl" who has that simple yet noticeable style. I like a good minimalist look, that even while layered still isn't fussy. Plus, I also enjoyed the diversity of the models as well. Not to mention, I was front row so I was able to snap some really great pics of the show.

Take a look at her Spring 2017 collection...

By the way, here is how I looked:

C'est moi.
My OOTD consisted of:
Old Navy boyfriend jeans
Jessica Simpson "Carlene" bow pumps in lipstick red (sorry, but it seems they are sold out...ugggghhhh!!!)
Off-the-shoulder top in ankara print
Angela Roi "Palette Cross Body" in yellow (seems this bag is discontinued, but click on the link for her other fabulous cross body collections.)
