I too attended some NYFW shows. I couldn't let my guest posters have all the fun. [P.S. I know it has been forever since I actually posted...although I know you love getting the scoop on all of these amazing sample sales. But, slowly and surely, I will be posting on everything I should've been...even shows I attended last season.]

I started my fashion week season with a show and designer I have been wanting to see for a long time, Leanne Marshall. She has been a fave of mine since Project Runway and I was excited to get an invite (even if it was Standing). I have always loved Leanne's collections and this AW17 did not disappoint. I loved her use of the staple wardrobe colors - black and white, nude/champagne, silver, and pops of red. It's great when the color palette is simple, but the design is what gives it a twist...because then you're focusing more on the designer's aesthetic than how much you either love or hate the color it is in. (By the way, every model had a popping red lip!) The collection had this cool combination of structure mixed with fluidity that I really enjoyed. And I loved her tailored looks (especially the red pants and the laser cutout skirts). Such a gorgeous collection. It gave you everything romantic, strong, and effortless.
